Tracklist

1. The World and You Tonight

Don’t rush around
The world will wait for you
And too much time is lost
On all the things we have to do

There’s nothing more important baby
Right now than you and me
So come a little closer darling
And turn the lights down low a key

And life could be so wonderful
A perfect home and a family
When you’re lying next to me
I’m everything I want to be
With the world and you tonight
With the world and you tonight

With you my love
The world’s a better place
And every day with you
Will hold a treasured memory

Your embrace
Could steal me forever
And nothing else matters
When I hold you in my arms

And life could be so wonderful
A perfect home and a family
‘Cos you are everything to me
I’m the lock and you’re the key
To the world and me tonight
To the world and me tonight
It’s the world and you tonight
You are my world
With the world and me tonight

2. So Not Over You

Don’t know why I still slept on my side of the bed
The emptiness when you were gone kept ringing in my head
Told myself I really had to move along now
Stop regretting all the things I left unsaid, yeah yeah

So I tore up your letters
Took your picture off my wall
I deleted your number, it was too hard not to call
Felt a little better, told myself I’d be fine
Got to live for the good times up ahead, yeah yeah

‘Cos everywhere I go
There’s a love song that reminds me of you
And even though I knew I had to be strong
I was still not over you
‘Cos I still believe and I could see how there’s nothing left of you and me
That time is over
‘Cos I’m so not over you

All my friends try to tell me better find somebody new
Why waste time being lonely when there’s nothing left to lose?
Anything to get you out of my mind
I’m a fool if I thought I could forget
And I could not forget

‘Cos everywhere I go
There’s a love song that reminds me of you
And even though I knew I had to be strong
I was still not over you
‘Cos I still believe and I could see there was nothing left of you and me
That time is over
‘Cos I’m so not over you

Now I found a way to keep you there beside me
To where my love won’t be denied
I can only hope to keep you there and guide me
There’s no more need to hide from all this pain inside

‘Cos everywhere I go
There’s a love song that reminds me of you
And even though I knew I had to be strong
I was still not over you
‘Cos I still believe and I could see how there’s nothing left of you and me
That time is over
‘Cos I’m so not over you

So not over you
That time is over baby
‘Cos I’m so not over you

3. Stay

Say did I thank you for your kindness
It’s just the way you are
The sympathetic things you say and do
Made me love you from afar
Now I need to know you and bring myself a little closer, yeah
The chance to hold you in my arms and put our love in motion
Makes me say

Stay lady, stay baby stay
Cos I would rather smile than cry
Stay lady, stay baby stay
Just the way you are with me

You ask me ‘bout the dress you’re wearing
I just love the way you are
Now don’t you change a single thing for me
To me girl you’re the star
You supported me, with love, honour and devotion, yeah
Now you can believe in me and share in loves emotions
And make me say

Stay lady, stay baby stay
Cos I would rather smile than cry
Stay lady, stay baby stay
Just the way you are with me

Stay with me!

Just the way you are with me
Stay lady, stay baby stay
Just the way you are
With love and affection

Stay lady, stay baby stay
You supported me
With love, honour and devotion

4. They Don’t Know

They don’t know
They don’t know

Driving by two lovers
Kissing and walking, livin’ out a dream
Mm hoping they will make it
Beauty out of sync in a crowded city scene

They don’t know

Driving by two lovers
Hoping to make love’s fantasy forever
Hmm I feel so good about them
Will fate force its hand, could it end it too soon?
I see, together they will learn so much
Have you?
Will you?

Don’t let anyone tell you not to dream
Don’t let anyone tell you what you think you must think
Mm and if you’ve never loved my friend
You may not know
That broken hearts don’t play the game
They don’t play the game

Riding by two lovers
Needing her love again and many times forever
Hmm hope they’re gonna make it
Do you want to spend the rest of life on your own?
‘Cos I see, together they will love so much
Have you?
Will you?

Don’t let anyone tell you not to dream
Don’t let anyone tell you not to think
Don’t let anyone tell you what you think you must think
Mm and if you’ve never loved my friend
You may not know
That broken hearts don’t play the game
They don’t play the game

They don’t know

Together they will learn so much
Have you?
Mm, they don’t know how, oh they don’t

Hope you learn how
They don’t know (rpt)

5. Oh! What a Girl!

Here she comes again
Walking right by next to me
Oh, she’s smelling so sweet, so fine
Make me loose my mind
Oh, making this man crazy now, crazy, crazy

Oh what a girl
Oh what a girl, what a lady

There came a time in my life
A time to move along
Left alone once more again
Yes I loved her

Images abound in my mind
They paint you like I love you
If I felt I had you
I’d open up my soul again

Chorus:
Now I just can’t stand being turned on my head
And I don’t need to be lonely in my bed
I don’t wanna be around until the curtain falls
When she walks in the room the moonlight beams
From her face and all those dreams
Come along where lost love stole a parking space
And oh what a girl
Oh what a girl, what a lady

These images abound in my mind
Painting me like I love you
Now I know I’ve found you
I’ve opened up my soul for sure

Chorus

She’s walking right next to me
Here she comes now walking down the street
Looking so fine
Make me loose my mind
Oh, making this man crazy now, crazy, crazy

6. Good Times Have Done Me Wrong

I drank a lot
Spent too much
Gave a lot
Screwed up a lot
Now good times you’ve done me wrong, so wrong

And now I feel that my lifetime is mine
Happy to drink my wine
Hangin’ here with that girl of mine
Still, good times, you’ve done me wrong, so wrong

Chorus:
Remember all the good times
Remember all the good times
Remember all the good times
Remember all the good times
Good times, good times
Good times, good times
Remember all the good times
The good times
The good times

I did really love too much
I never really cared too much
Good times you’ve done me wrong
Now good times, so wrong

Chorus (rpt to fade)

7. Debris

I left you on the debris
At the Sunday morning market
You were sorting through the odds and ends
You was looking for a bargain

I heard your footsteps at the front door
In that old familiar love song
Cause you knew you’d find me waiting there
At the top of the stairs

I went there and back
Just to see how far it was
And you, you tried to tell me
But I had to learn for myself

There’s more trouble at the depot
With the general workers union
And you said they’ll never change a thing
Well, they won’t fight and they’re not working

Oh you was my hero
Now you are my good friend
I’ve been there and back
And I know how far it is

But I left you on the debris
Now we both know you got no money
And I wonder what you would have done
Without me hanging around

8. Lady

Your indulgence of your freedom ignores me
Your freedom to express your confusion shames all of us
As if being a lady will make it easier
By being a lady it will make love life clearer

I hope that you get what you think you want some day baby
And I pray that you get the approval you’re craving
This beautiful lady can overtake all of us
Funny this kind of lady seems to make our lives clearer

Chorus:
I could turn on a leaf and let you burn
Beg you for relief when it’s my turn
Help me to help you help me learn
Ah lady! You make life breathe easier
But don’t blame me if your life sheds a tear

The feverish time we spend alone it soothes me
But too many days spent apart alone they just confuse me
Part of being a lady you love it when I miss you more
And without pontificating its you I’m adorin’

Chorus

Ah Lady! Oh Lady!
Crazy! Ooh Lady!
Ah baby! Ooh you make me crazy!

9. Money TV

I remember a time and a place
Where Herbie had to hide his face
All my money was spent
And I still don’t get one red cent

One black face replaced by a Base
Sown from the seeds of a white disgrace
And money TV made it all for free
Did they really do it for you and for me?

Chorus:
Money TV, money TV, money TV
You’re so good to me
So good to me, so good to me
Money TV, money TV, money TV
Money is your baby and you know what you breed

So this skateboard
Knew a burger
Knew a soft drink
And they used to stay at home
Playing videos on computers
And they called it a life and you know what they think they were right

Money TV
Money TV, money TV, money TV
Money is your baby and you know what you breed

Dear surfers you ride as you see
Compute me with lead and your mercury
So I can eat burgers and live life on money TV

Mr Shirty you hide in your place
Sown from the seeds of a white disgrace,
‘Cos money’s been spent and I still don’t get one red cent

Chorus

Money TV
Money TV, money TV, money TV
You know what you’ve been
You know what you’ve been

Repeat to fade

10. The Death of Cool

My shyness, my misunderstood
My misunderstanding
My destiny is grounded, by confounding weights
As Hollywood greats inspire me to keep my body whole

Since I’ve been the master of low expectations
Aren’t you humans supposed to look like me?

Quotes like “buddy I blew you up
Then gave you a band aid”
Pseudo spiritual kebababallah’s we can all be fooled
It’s the death of the cool
The death of the cool

We got fakirs, false prophets and fools
And phoney saint saviours
Fame’s pick me up gets drowned in
Pop’s twinkle and dreams torn at the seams
It can leave you with nothing left at all

Since we’re the believers with tall expectations
Can’t you humans come have a laugh with me?

Quotes like “buddy I screwed you up, made you the new slave
The fastest growing guru in the market place of happiness
We can all be saved
“Buddy I blew you up, gave you a band aid”
Do you really need to learn to be a human?
We can all be shamed
Its the death of the cool
The death of the cool

Quotes like “buddy I blew you up, gave you a condom”
Do you really need to learn to save a human?
We could all be blamed

Buddy I blew you up
The death of the cool
(repeat)

11. Little Englander

We think we’re important
We are, we’re a car, we’re a shell

When you hit that city road
You sure give them hell

Are you sure he’s showing off
Or are you showing us yourself

Little Englander, Little Englander

In your search to be a star
You became the p***k you are

Little Englander, Little Englander
Little Englander, Little Englander

Judge me go on it amuses me
As you pickle through your tirade
You prattle on to the point of a laugh

Your Hieronymus Bosch – like soul
Betrays who you really are

Little Englander, Little Englander
Little Englander, Little Englander
Little Englander, Little Englander
Little Englander, Little Englander

Let me smash the plastic face of my country
Let me smash the plastic face of my country
My country
My lovely country
