Hi all would just like to say thank you. My aunt and myself have been to 3 shows this year and all 3 were amazing. We were at Glasgow secc, o2 in dublin then the odessey in Belfast. Actually i got the bands autographes at Belfast city airport (the young blonde) lol. You were missing though Mike so my aunts not best pleased lol. Use were all amazing and gave off such a great buzz and we would defo come and see use again. We spent over a £1500 on tickets for the shows and they were worth every penny. Thank you for the music ,me and my wive have seen the band many times and it,s getting better and better.We were in Rotterdam about 20 jears back the first time and in the Royel Albert Hall 2 x , you pute us on the d.v.d ,thank,s . We went to Amsterdam two times this year and we went to Munchen Gladbach Germany.Now we are waiting for 2010.Last year we even went to Cyprus to see the band in the footbal stadium in Phapos

I was introduced to Simply Red only this year on concert series on Direct TV, the Home concert in Italy. I was immediately addicted and have not gone one day since March without listening to one of the many dvd's and cd's I have acquired since then. I just accepted the possibility that you had broken up and went on with my life. Then, in 2003, I was listening to my iTunes at work and I heard a cool and sexy song called SUNRISE and later YOU MAKE ME FEEL BRAND NEW. I WAS HOOKED. Then, you were gone again. Then, in 2008, I was watching DirectTV’s Channel 101 and they were showing your HOME concert from Sicily. That was it—I WAS FOREVER HOOKED. I have your website bookmarked and I surf it every day. Right now, I have the HOME and STAY CDs, which I play in my car all the time, and I’m making it my quest to get the earlier CDs for the entire collection. In fact, I received the 25: THE GREATEST HITS CD for my birthday!!......... I would like to congratulate you guys for such a successful tour!! Everybody was fabulous; even though Sarah and Dee weren’t there, they were there in “spirit”. I know that you are happy to have a nice—and long deserved—rest before your final tour in 2010. I have to say that you are looking at the only Simply Red fan who has NEVER been to any of your concerts!!! You are about to hear a global collective gasp of shock right now (maybe even a few faints). But, thanks to 21st century technology, especially YouTube, I’m up to speed with all of your songs. They are WONDERFUL!!! I saw your Budapest concert on YouTube and it was TERRIFIC!!! I did not know that you were so “family friendly”! Also, I saw the segment in which you had your little angel, Romy, with you. I think that it is great that you bring her to you concerts and tours to spend great quality time together. Mick, I’m also glad that your personal life is going well. “Sad Old Red” is no more!! After many years of “passing the time” (my late dad’s term for “playing the field” ;-) ), God has blessed you by bringing the beautiful Gabriella into your life and from that love gave you your little Romy True……..I would like to apologize on the behalf of the American radio establishment for not playing your music for the past 19 years. What were they thinking?!?! Maybe that’s why you guys only did two concerts in the States this year—one on the East coast (New York) and one on the West coast (Los Angeles). In my opinion, you have the distinction of being one of the few recording artists that has never recorded a “bad” song. What do I mean by a “bad” song? I mean a song that one might hear and think “What were they thinking when they wrote and/or sang that song?!?” “It stinks!!!” You DO NOT do that. All of your songs are terrific!!! I especially like the way to take a classic song and make it your own. That is a true GIFT! I grew up with the original version of YOU MAKE ME FEEL BRAND NEW by the Stylistics and IF YOU DON’T KNOW ME BY NOW by Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes. But, when I heard your versions, I could not believe that a white artist from England could make it even better and more romantic. It [YOU MAKE ME FEEL BRAND NEW] is a song you would hear at many weddings. I also love IT’S YOU (from the HOME CD)—another beautiful “first dance” wedding song!!.......I’m also happy to hear that your post-Simply Red project, A TRIBUTE TO BOBBY, is getting GREAT reviews. It takes a lot of courage to try something new after 25 years of success with a band such as SR. Although I wish you change your mind about going solo (A girl can dream, can’t she ?? lol), I hope this is the beginning of more successfully independent projects. If you would like any ideas, I have a few: 1) An album of standards (every time I hear EVERYTIME WE SAY GOODBYE, OCEAN, or A SONG FOR YOU, I get so teary-eyed. They are so touching, relaxing, soothing, and beautiful!!); 2) A “sequel” to 25: THE GREATEST HITS. You could include COME TO MY AID, THRILL ME, REMEMBERING THE FIRST TIME, INFIDELITY, etc.; 3) An album of children’s songs. This can bring new a whole new generation of fans……If you do come to the States for your farewell tour, can you try to come to one of the following cities: Greenville, SC, Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, NC, Clemson, SC, or Columbia, SC…..Again, I wish all of you good luck with your 2010 tour and all your future projects. Dear Mick, I saw both of your latest concerts in Budapest. They were great. I'm looking forward to a live DVD/CD. Although I'm not a Jedi Knight, who would have a little more chance to save SR for the world of music, let me make a comment on retiring the band. I can understand your expalantion that you've "fully explored this style". There are lots of great bands that should have stopped making new materials a few albums ago. However, have you considered the fate of your musical heritage? One more star of "modern classics", who EARNED stardom leaving the universe of live music? You are so few now. while great songs are lying in the attic. There is still so much to teach to the world about good music. I hope we are not going to lose a professor. While 'training' my sons with pop/rock/blues music of the '70 and '80s, I don't know whose concert I'll be able to take them to. They're just 2 and 6. A few months ago it was so touching to see fathers and sons at the Ten Years After Now concert. So, all things considered, how about retiring SR only as a 'production facility' and keeping it as a "SR property caretaker" touring every now and then, maybe not in stadiums just in clubs? I hope you'll be missing SR shows as much as we. Anyway, thank you for all so far. You are fantastic!

As much as I love the first one, I feel that there have been many wonderful songs that were missed in the first volume (i.e., COME TO MY AID, THRILL ME, INFIDELITY, HOME LOAN BLUES, STAY, etc.). You really don’t have to go back to the studios to record them, just use the original “masters” and you are all set. i went to three different dates this year to see simply red and have been to a few over the years and everytime is as good as the first . im just in the middle of booking up for june the 19th 2010.cant wait i was lucky enough to meet mick at newbury,he took the time to come and speak to us .a true gentlemen. ive grown up listening to simply red and now my children also know all the songs .. thank you mick and the rest of simply red :)
